Web site Submission in Yahoo!

On the Yahoo! Main page, scroll down to the Yahoo! Web Directory. It has several columns of directories listed. The directory that you should place your personal physician web site is in Regional. After you get into the Regional directory, there should be several categories listed. The category that you should go into is U.S. States, which is the first one on the list. While you are in the United States category page, pick the state that you want your personal physician web site categorized in.

After you choose your state, under categories select Health as your category. You will then go to a page with the Health categories. If your state has a category for Care Providers click on it, if not, go to the top of the page and click on the "Suggest a Site" link . You now should see there are two ways that you can submit your physician site to the Yahoo! Directory. (Yahoo! Express or Standard Submission) For a free submission, you should choose the Standard Submission for placing your own personal web site.

1. Verify Submission and Confirm Category
   This step is to remind you and confirm if your site is not listed in Yahoo! and have read their explanation on how to create your site. Be sure that your site is going to Regional/U.S. States/(state you chose)/Health/Care Providers category before approaching to the next step.

2. Site and Contact Information
   This page allows you to enter information about your site, your contact information, and any additional information you want to provide to assist in categorizing your site more appropriately. (Do not use all capital letters)

   Your Site Information:

   • Site Title (required): The name of the site (eg. Dr. XYZ Orthopaedics)
   • URL (required): The web address of the site that begins with "http://"
   • Geographic Location: The city/state and country, if relevant to placement of your site
   • Description: A brief phrase or sentence describing the content of the site. (Maximum 25 words, avoid repeating the site title or category name, do not capitalize the first letter of every word or use HTML tags )

   Your Contact Information:
   In the event that Yahoo! have questions about the placement of your site and to ensure that listings in Yahoo! cannot be changed by unauthorized persons.

After the above information are submitted, you will be receiving a Your Site Has Been Submitted confirmation. However, due to the volume of suggestions in Yahoo!, the timely consideration of your site cannot be guaranteed.
