My approach to treating patients
An Orthopedic Surgeon, at Bennett Orthopedics & Sportsmedicine: Regenerating the Youth in You! just 2blocks north of Sarasota Memorial Hospital, practices in the Sarasota, Bradenton and Venice areas of Sarasota County and Manatee County, Florida, also serving North Port, Englewood, Port Charlotte and Lakewood Ranch.
Dr. Bennett, who performs orthopedic surgery, treats knee, shoulder, ankle, elbow and hip pain, and specializes in shoulder and knee surgery.
Examples of his techniques include; collagen meniscus implant(Menaflex), minimally invasive surgical techniques ranging from arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, minimally invasive/quadriceps sparing Total Knee Replacement, cartilage regeneration techniques (Carticel)to Growth Factor (PRP-platelet enriched plasma) therapy, bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cell therapy (BMAC2), custom-made patient-specific partial knee replacement and biologic knee rejeuvenation, as an option to Total Knee Replacement.
Athletes, like the ones to the right of the screen have benefited by the use of minimally invasive surgical techniques. Innovative approaches include; using your own cartilage cells, blood-platelets and/or stem cells(bone-marrowed derived) to rejeuvenate damaged joints, as opposed to Cortisone injections and metal and plastic implants.
However, if metal and plastic implants are necessary, Dr. Bennett uses a minimally invasive approach for total knee replacement that allows you to walk without a cane in 3 weeks, and many times in 7-10 days.
