My approach to treating patients
ABOUT ME PERSONALLY: My practice is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of spinal disorders and trauma. I have had the good fortune of a diverse training in spine surgery including an international fellowship in Switzerland and a fellowship with internationally renowned David K. Selby at the Dallas Spine Group.
We use a team approach in caring for people with neck and back problems. Conservative therapy, including medications, therapy, possible injections and other modalities, are always tried before contemplating if surgery is even an option. The fact is, most people with neck and back problems will resolve their symptoms sufficiently without surgery. We strive to educate patients and get them involved in their care so that THEY will make the decisions rather than the health care professionals.
If surgery is an option, we pick "the right surgery for the right patient." I am trained in and perform on a regular basis: Microscopic Surgery (e.g. Microdiscectomy in the neck or back), Spinal Reconstructions (with or without pedicle screws and/or fusion cages), Motion sparing surgery, Minimally invasive surgeyr, IDET (Intra Discal Electrothermal Therapy), Kyphoplasty & Vertebroplasty (injecting osteoporotic spine fractures for stabilization and pain control), and many other types of spinal surgery.
