My approach to treating patients
My philosophy is to treat the whole patient instead of approaching patients as just a diseased body part. I listen to you and help you achieve the outcome I would want for my parent, sibling, or best friend. I like to make sure you understand your problem on your level. I strive to provide a level of care that might equal or perhaps be above what can be offered in a larger city. I also like to minimize postoperative pain and expedite recovery by whatever proven means available. I use adjuncts to care such as postoperative pain pumps, nerve blocks, and multiple medication regimens. These modalities allow many cases to be performed as an outpatient that might have previously required a hospital stay. Shoulder: >Arthroscopic capsular shrinkage for subtle shoulder instability >Arthroscopic shoulder stabilization for recurrent dislocations >Arthroscopic distal clavicle excision for painful acromioclavicular degenerative joint disease >Arthroscopically-assisted mini-open rotator cuff repair (smaller incision = less pain) >Arthroscopic subacromial decompression for painful impingement syndrome >Arthroscopic labral repair and/or debridement for labral pathology
Wrist: >Arthroscopic wrist ligament debridement (Continued wrist pain after a wrist fracture or fall with normal x-rays)
Hand: >Percutaneous trigger finger release (Release performed in office under local anesthesia) >Mini-incision carpal tunnel release (Less pain and quicker recovery) >Joint replacements
Knee: >Arthroscopically-assisted knee replacement for appropriate candidates >Arthroscopically-assisted anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction >Arthroscopic meniscal debridement and/or repair >Arthroscopic patellar realignment >Arthroscopic cartilage micro-debridement procedures >Less invasive total knee replacement and unicompartmental replacement
Ankle: >Arthroscopic ankle debridement (For vague ankle pain with normal X-rays) >Ligament reconstruction for ankle instability >Fusion surgery for arthritic ankles >Tendon transfers for ankle malalignment
Foot: >Bunion surgery of the great toe and hammer toe correction of the small toes stabilized with absorbable implants (Allows immediate weight-bearing for mild bunions and toe procedures)
General: >Surgery for traumatic bone injuries
