Medical insurance plans and payment options
We no longer accept HMO insurance plans. I would encourage patients who have HMO insurance to come in for a second opinion. Often HMO insurance will cover hospital and anesthesia fees if surgery is recommended.
We are no longer "preferred providers" for Blue Cross and Blue Shield. This is due to their decreasing reimbursement to physicians and their offices, despite higher patient premiums. We still accept these plans on a non-contracted basis, which usually translates into a slightly higher co-pay for patients. However, the payment to hospitals and anesthesiologists is unaffected.
