The physicians and staff of OMSA are excellent. I would like to introduce you to the other excellent, board certified orthopaedic surgeons at OSMA.

1. Robert J. Caudle, M.D, the founder of OSMA, is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Overseas, Wake County Medical Society, North Carolina Medical Society, Scoliosis Research Society, and the North Carolina Orthopaedic Association. As a respected surgeon, published author and lecturer, you are in good hands.

A Releigh native, Dr. Caudle is a graduate of NCSU and Wake Forest School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Cincinnati adn received fellowship training at Texas Scottish Rite Crippled Children's Hospital, in pediatric orthopaedics and scoliosis. Following a rotating trauma fellowship in Europe, he began private practice in 1988.

2. Kurt Ehlert, M.D. has over ten years of orthopadic experience. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Ehlert also is a member of the North Carolina Orthopaedic Association and the Wake County Medical Society.

Dr. Ehlert was born in Milwaukee, WI and attended undergraduate school at the University of Wisconsin. He comopleted his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in 1987 and performed his orthopaedic residency there as well. While in his final year of residency, Dr. Ehler seved as Chief Orthopaedic Resident for the 25 orthopaedic residents in-training. He subsequently served four years in the U.S. Air Force as an orthopaedic surgeon and Chief of the Orthopaedic Clinic at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, AZ. Dr. Ehlert has been in private practice since that time. Dr. Ehlert has worked with Olympic and professional athletes and currently is the orthopaedic physician for Campbell University.

3. William "Bill" Hage, M.D. was born in Ann Arbor, MI, and spent his school years in Durham, NC, graduating from Charles E. Jordan High School. In 1992, he graduated magna cum laude from Kenyon College in Gambier, OH with a Degree in Biology. He returned to NC and earned hsi medical degree from Duke University in 1996. Dr. Hage completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Emory University in Atlanta, earning both the Leonard Marmor Outstanding Orthopaedic Surgery Resident Award and the Kelly Society Outstanding Clinical Research Paper Award. During his final year of residency training his peers elected him Administrative Chief Resident.

From 2001 - 2002, Dr. Hage completed an additional year of training as a Fellow in Sports Medicine at the University of Maryland. During his fellowship year, Dr. Hage served on the meedical staff of the NFL's Baltimore Ravens. He also served on the medical staff of the University of Maryland Athletic Department, which included the 2001 ACC Champion Football Team and the 2002 NCAA National Champion Men's Basketball Team.

Dr. Hage has presented his research on athletic injuries at numerous national meetings including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Orthopaedic Association's resident conference.

4. Shepard F. Rosenblum, M.D. has been practice since 1995, and is board certified by the the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. His area of specialization is in Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the North Carolina Orthopaedic Association, and the North Carolina Medical Sociey.

Dr. Rosenblum received his medical degree and completed his surgical internship at the New York University School of Medicine. He attended the the Hospital for Joint Diseases - Orthopaedic Institute in New York City for both his residency training and for a fellowship in Bioengineering. While a resident, he won the prestigious AOA-Zimmer Travel Award for Orthopaedic Residents, a national award for excellence in orthopaedic research. Dr. Rosenblum then went on to complete a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia. Dr. Rosenblum has been an assistant team physician at Temple University, the US Open Tennis Tournament, as well as several major professional cance companies in New York City. Dr. Rosenblum continued to play an active role with sports teams as the senior team physician for the North Carolina Wesleyan College, the Carolina Stallions football team, and several local high schools. Dr. Rosenblum also performs joint replacement surgery, fracture care, and general orthopaedics.

5. Edward "Chip" Hedrick, MPAS, PA-C, plays a vital role at OSMA as the practice's lead physician assistant. Chip was a graduate of the first four year Physician Assistant Program in the US in 1972. He received his masters in physician assistant studies with the specialization in orthopaedics form the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He also served with honor in Vietnam as a corpsman with the Navy and Marine Corps.

Mr. Hedrick has been working with trauma and orthopaedics since June of 1972, and has been providing orthopaedic care in Raleigh sincer 1989. He was board certified in Family Practice in 1975. He is a fellow member of the American Academy of Physicians Assistants and the North Carolina Medical Society where he serves on the managed care committee, and Board of Directors of the Political Action Committee. He is also a fellow member of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistans.

In January 2003 Chip was recognized as Physician Assistant of the Year by the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants. The honor is awarded to individuals for outstanding service in their field. The committee judged candidates for theri accomplishments as clinicians and administrators, professional involvement at local, state, and national levels, community service, and contribution to their field.
