If your insurance company is not a contracted provider with Wake Forest University Physicians but will still cover part of your medical charges at Wake Forest University Physicians, then we will file claims to your insurance company and later bill the patient for the balance that the insurance company does not pay.
The Wake Forest University Physicians Business Office does the billing for all of the physician charges. This includes filing medical claims to the insurance company. And, this includes billing to the patient for any balance remaining after the insurance company has paid. The Wake Forest University Physician Business Office balances are due upon receipt of a billing statement from the Business Office. However, a monthly budget plan for 3 months can be arranged by contacting the Business Office if the balance is above certain guidelines. In extreme circumstances and for larger balances, a longer term payment plan will be considered on a case by case basis. On any question involving the billing procedures, contact the Business Office at (336) 716-3988, or (800) 938-7497 (toll free).
