My approach to treating patients

In 2009, Dr. West returned home to Asheville where he was born and raised. In order to provide the highest level of care to the people of WNC, he has sought the best possible sub-specialty training.

He was blessed to do a fellowship with Drs. James Andrews, William Clancy, Lyle Cain, and Jeffrey Dugas at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, AL. There he learned the latest arthroscopic and open techniques for reconstruction of the Shoulder, Elbow, and Knee. Finally, he was privileged to join the area's premier upper extremity surgeons at Carolina Hand, expanding their services to include treatment of lower extremity injuries and conditions.

Dr. West's goal is to return both athletes and non-athletes to their previous level of activity in a safe and efficient manner.
