My goal is to provide caring, personalized treatment. I personally interview, examine, and diagnose every patient.
I use the latest methods for testing. Non-invasive testing is used whenever possible.
Non-surgical treatment is always recommended if surgery can be avoided. When surgery is needed, I use minimally-invasive methods or microsurgery. This helps you heal faster and helps maximize your ultimate success from treatment.
Surgery for the shoulder, elbow, hand, knee, cervical disc (neck pain), and lumbar disc (low back pain or sciatica) is almost always done outpatient. That is, no hospitalization.
For joint replacement surgery, I use "in-growth" joints whenever possible. This has been shown to be highly successful for returning good function and decreasing or eliminating arthritic pain. Some patients go home after a few days in the hospital, and some are transferred to the hospital's rehabilitaion ward (which specializes in the treatment of patients after joint replacement surgery.)
