My approach to treating patients
Dr. Poehling has a long-standing interest in the development of new arthroscopy techniques to expand the use of arthroscopic surgery. Additionally, Dr. Poehling is involved in several outcome studies. One to evaluate techniques of high tibial osteotomies and another to determine post-surgical outcomes in patients with anterior cruciate ligament injuries. Dr. Poehling has also assisted in the development of computer software programs to track arthroscopic surgical procedures. These programs are the foundation of a nationwide database of information pertaining to arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Poehling is involved with research for the transplantation of articular cartilage. He also has an interest in minimally invasive surgery and the treatment of distal radial fractures and traumatic wrist and elbow disorders.
