Our approach to treating patients
The purpose of Children's Orthopaedic and Scoliosis Surgery Associates, LLP, is to provide pediatric orthopaedic care to children in West Central Florida. The practice also employs five Physician's Assistants. Compassionate, superlative care is focused on the individual patient's needs and based upon evidence-based orthopaedic principles, delivered with integrity and innovative approaches.
Dr. Drew Warnick is a board-eligible orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in pediatric orthopaedic surgery and pediatric sports medicine. He graduated from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL, followed by a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic surgery and pediatric sports medicine at the Atlanta Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Dr. Warnick was awarded the Charles M. Schwartz traveling fellowship and studied at the Adidas Sports Medicine Clinic in Auckland, New Zealand after finishing his fellowship.
Dr. Warnick’s is a member of several organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and Health Volunteers Overseas. He has authored book chapters, peer reviewed publications and has conducted regional and national presentations.
Dr. Warnick brings a new area of expertise to our practice. His interests include pediatric and adolescent sports medicine and problems of the hip in adolescents and young adults. His specialized training included arthroscopic surgery of the hip, knee, shoulder, elbow, and ankle. He is trained in hip preservation techniques, including those amenable to treatment with surgical dislocation of the hip and Ganz periacetabular osteotomy.
Dr. Warnick has served as a team and event physician for both Loyola and Lewis University. His recent research includes measuring strain in the individual ACL bundles under large quadriceps forces and the arthroscopic treatment of multidirectional shoulder instability in young athletes. He is on staff at All Children’s Hospital in St Petersburg and St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Tampa.

Other staff in my practice
The orthopaedic surgeons on our staff are Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and all are fellows of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. You have the option to select an individual physician from our group- myself, Dr. Jeffrey B. Neustadt, Dr. Scott W. Beck, Dr. Gregory V. Hahn, or Dr. Paul L. Benfanti- -to provide you with the majority of your patient care. Should you have an immediate problem and your doctor is not available, another physician in the group will be available to assist you until your own doctor returns. Our medical answering service can be reached 24 hours a day.
Our certified allied health practitioners, Cody Thompson, PA, Sheila Spencer, PA, Kristen Winne, PA, Cara Cimilluca, PA and Sarah Green, PA, stand ready to participate in providing you with the highest quality of care. Terri Amick, RN and Trisha Cunningham, RN, our office nurses, are also available to answer your questions, schedule appointments, and triage care for you.

Our scheduling triage team consists of 3 people: Terri Amick, RN in the St. Petersburg office as well as Trisha Cunningham, RN and Jay King in the Tampa office. Before scheduling your appointment, you may be asked to obtain medical records and x-rays from any other orthopaedic surgeons you have seen which will provide helpful information about your case.
Children's Orthopaedic and Scoliosis Surgery Associates was founded in 1988. The St. Petersburg office is located across the street from All Children's Hospital. The Tampa office is located in Tampa, across the street from St. Joseph's Hospital. Outreach clinics are held in Sarasota and Brandon as well.
