My approach to treating patients
The emphasis of my practice is treating adolescent and adult patients with hip and knee disease. I specialize in complex cases which may require treatments such as osteotomy (bone realignment), cartilage transplantation, as well as partial and total joint replacement. My clinical and research efforts have focused on preserving joints for as long as possible prior to joint replacement. Many of the patients that I see have relatively rare diagnoses such as hip dysplasia or newly defined diagnoses such as hip impingement. One of my goals is to provide adequate education to the patient so that they can make the most informed decision about their care. As a result, we have established a patient education website at www.hipandknee.net. Combining patient education with a broad range of non-surgical and surgical options has been one of my major efforts.
