My approach to treating patients

In 2003, I was recruited to join the Columbia Orthopaedic Group as a total joint replacement surgeon. Along with my nurse practitioner and secretary, our primary goal is to take time with our patients, to understand their suffering, and to provide evidence-based effective solutions.
What truly matters to us is that each patient is treated with kindness, compassion, and respect. Essentially, we strive to treat others like we would want to be treated.
We recognize that each patient's needs are different. Some may need medical treatment, while others require surgery. Regardless, we enjoy taking the time to explain the condition and the treatment. Together, we pursue an excellent outcome.
Our practice is focused on minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery. Being a part of this exciting technology provides our patients with a smaller scar and the hope of less post-operative pain and a quicker recovery.
Within my first few months in practice in 2003, I was the first surgeon in mid-Missouri to perform minimally invasive total knee replacement surgery. Since that time, I have performed over 300 less-invasive joint replacements per year. I have had the pleasure of helping patients from not only the midwestern states, but also from as far as Arizona and Florida.
