My approach to treating patients

I am an experienced, board-certified, fellowship-trained hip and knee replacement surgeon. I believe in giving my patients compassionate, detail-oriented, advanced medical care. While training as a surgeon I never forgot how to be a well-rounded physician. I enjoy taking my time with patients and trying to figure out what the best treatment plan is for each particular problem. I am always available for my patients - both before and after surgery.

In many instances surgery can be avoided. When surgery is needed I offer a wide variety of minimally invasive procedures.

I am also known amongst my colleagues for tackling some of the most difficult cases out there. I have an interest in complex primary and revision surgery of the hip and knee. I also have expertise and interest in the treatment of infected joint replacements. When appropriate, I work in conjunction with other members of the Mount Sinai Medical Center Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in order to provide the most comprehensive & highly specialized treatment plan.

I am a big believer in patient education preoperatively. Our center's Patient Education Center is first class! I chose to work with a top-notch team of anesthesiologists, pain management specialists, plastic surgeons, rheumatologists, cardiologists, physical therapists, physician assistants, nurses and social workers who share my philosophies on patient care. Some you will meet prior to surgery and others afterwards. We are all here to help our patients - it's what makes us happy!

Lastly, I am all about your well-being and safety. As a member of the American Association of Hip & Knee Surgeons I am always on top of new developments in the field of joint replacement. I routinely review articles submitted for publication to several of the most prestigious journals in our field. As a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons' Patient Safety Committee I am always looking out for my patients' well-being both inside and outside of the operating room.
