Children’s
Orthopaedic and Scoliosis Surgery Associate’s is
renowned for specializing and treating all types of pediatric orthopaedic
diagnosis. Our offices are located in St. Petersburg and Tampa, with a satellite
clinic in Sarasota and now a new satellite location in
Brandon. Who
are the physicians in the group? Jeffrey
B. Neustadt, M.D., Scott W. Beck, M.D., Gregory V. Hahn, M.D., and Tracy J.
Roberts, M.D. Are
you Board certified? Yes,
all the physicians in this group are Board Certified or eligible and three are
fellows of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. You want to ask this
question of all your doctors! Not only is the group board certified or board
eligible, Jeffrey B Neustadt, M.D. was an oral examiner for the American Board
of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS) in 2004 and again in 2005. What
does it mean to be a fellow? Fellowship
requires Certification by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) and
the physician have been in practice for a minimum of three years. There is a
formal review by the Membership Committee of the AAOS and must have approval by
the Academy's Board of Directors. Subspecialty certification does not preclude
other orthopaedists from caring for children. Most orthopaedic surgeons
rightfully treat children at some level, however, the subspecialty certification
is held by every member in this group. What
makes this group unique and different from other orthopaedic
practices? The
practice deals with only children, from movies in the lobby to hot pink colored
casts. We use appropriate sizes for children and adolescents, apply waterproof
casting when appropriate, and understand proper bracing. The staff is trained in
pediatric conditions and casting. The x-ray equipment is the latest technology
in digital radiology. What
age of children and type of problems are seen that the practice?
We
treat from infancy to 18 years of age. Type of diagnoses include acute
fractures, traumatic fractures, curly toes, knock knees, bowed legs, intoeing,
hip dysplasia and hip dislocations, club feet, polydactyly – toes and feet, leg
length discrepancy, kyphosis, scoliosis and all types of pediatric
conditions. Who
