Achievements

Chris Oliver has featured in the media; Internet, radio and television in relation to obesity issues. He has a blog "Morbid Obesity to Triathlons". In 2009 was the featured medical writer for the BBC Scrubbing Up Column "Time to Get Tough on Obesity".

Chris Oliver has written extensively on the surgical Internet especially in relation to quality of information, coping with information overload, efficacy of Internet search engines, picture archiving and communication systems and ways of marketing the surgical Internet. Established the Orthopod International Mailing List in 1997. Was webmaster for British Orthopaedic Association and established their first website. Chief editor of Orthogate in its early stages of evolution. He has over 400 publications and presentations.

Community activities

I had a previous life as a expedition whitewater canoeist and paddled on rivers in Europe, Yukon, Alaska, India, Turkey and Bhutan.

I enjoy cycling (Land's End to John O'Groats 2009), spinning, diving, sailing, skiing and computing.
