My approach to treating patients
Dr. Casas is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the management of musculoskeletal tumors (sarcoma or bone cancer), cancer metastatic to bone, bone and joint infections (osteomyelitis), and complex joint reconstruction. He is an expert in limb preserving surgery, which involves removal of a bone or soft tissue tumor or infection without amputation.
Dr. Casas uses a team approach in the treatment of all of his patients. All cases are reviewed weekly with oncologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, and pathologists. This ensures a state-of-the-art treatment plan tailored to each individual patient.
Dr. Casas' research interests include the treatment of soft tissue sarcomas, metastatic bone disease, and bone and joint infections. He has co-authored scientific papers on the diagnosis and treatment of tumors and infections of the musculoskeletal system.
