Britton C. Wells, MD

Britton C. Wells, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with over 16 years practice experience. Dr. Wells is currently employed with the St. Luke's Orthopedic Clinic as a full time orthopedic hospitalist at the Boise and Meridian medical centers. His current practice is tailored to general orthopedics with a specialty focus in orthopedic trauma and the inpatient surgical care of urgent and emergent orthopedic patients. Dr. Wells has developed a reputation for excellent orthopedic care and surgical outcomes as well as an exceptional bedside manner. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 1997 and completed orthopedic internship and residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2002. Dr. Wells fulfilled the requirements for board certification for the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 2004 and re-certified in 2014 scoring in the 97th percentile on the general clinical recertification examination. Dr. Wells served 4 years active duty military service in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander from 2002 through 2006 as the department head of orthopedic surgery at Naval Hospital Lemoore California. Upon completion of his military service, he joined Bone & Joint Surgeons, a private practice orthopedic group in the Dayton Ohio area where he enjoyed a successful private practice for 9 years. In 2015 Dr. Wells relocated with his family to his hometown of Boise Idaho where he accepted a position with the St. Luke's Orthopedic Clinic. Dr. Wells is currently the medical director of the hip fracture program for St. Luke's Hospital. In his free time he enjoys being a devoted husband to his wife Courtney of 25 years and an active father to their 3 children. His personal interests and activities include snow skiing, mountain biking, hiking, boating, weight lifting, reading, movies, music and spending time with his family.
