My approach to treating patients
My name is Douglas Boardman, and I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. I am a Board certified orthopaedic surgeon dedicated to providing exceptional orthopaedic care for the past 10 years.
I've gained an immeasurable amount of experience in many aspects of general orthopaedics including arthroscopy, joint replacement, and trauma, with a specialty in Elbow & Shoulder Surgery.
As a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and the University of Pittsburgh Orthopaedic Residency Program, I have years of surgical experience and you can be assured that my clinical credentials are excellent.
In addition, I've completed post-residency Fellowship training in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery at the Mayo Clinic to complement my broad experience in general orthopaedics.
I specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the shoulder and elbow, including arthritis, rotator cuff injuries, sports injuries, fractures and dislocations. I have significant experience performing reverse total shoulder arthroplasty as well as conventional anatomic shoulder replacement surgery. I am also performing specialized research in shoulder and elbow fracture management.
I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you, and to helping you achieve your best possible musculoskeletal health.
