My approach to treating patients
Andrew A. Sama, M.D. is the Director of Orthopaedic Spinal Surgery at The New York Hospital OF Queens. He is an Assistant Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Hospital For Special Surgery in New York. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center and his fellowship in Spinal and Scoliosis Surgery at the Hospital For Special Surgery. He specializes in the surgical management of all traumatic, degenerative and deformity related conditions of the cervical, thoracic and lumbosacral spine. He is actively involved in research on the biologic enhancement of spine fusion and the development of minimally invasive techniques for spine surgery.
The spine services at the New York Hospital of Queens and the Hospital For Special Surgery employ a team-approach in managing the complexities of spine problems in patients of all ages; Specializing in the operative management of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine problems such as disc herniations, stenosis, spondylolisthesis, scoliosis, kyphosis and nerve compressions. The spine services at NYHQ and HSS provide the expertise of spine surgery, physiatry, neurology, pain management, and physical therapy. We understand that each patient is unique and we tailor an individual treatment regimen for each one with the ultimate goal being a return to an active and productive life style.
