My approach to treating patients

Welcome to the web site of Dr. Anthony Abene.

I was born and raised in New Jersey, but became addicted to the California sunshine when the Air Force stationed me at Travis Air Force Base. I graduated from Georgetown University Medical School in 1994. I then completed a five year residency at the University of Pennsylvania and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The next three years were spent with Uncle Sam and included assignments in Germany, the Azores, and the Persian Gulf. During this time I was appointed as a clinical professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. I also obtained my MBA in health care administration. After my honorable discharge I spent a year in a Sports Medicine fellowship at Stanford. I worked side by side with Drs Dillingham and Fanton. The fellowship allowed me to work with world class athletes including Stanford and Santa Clara on the collegiate level and the 49ers and Giants on the professional level.

I created this web site to familiarize you with my orthopaedic practice, dedicated staff, and the services we provide.

Whether you're making the decision for orthopaedic care, or would just like to expand your knowledge, I hope this site helps you become informed and more confident about the incredible realm of orthopaedic treatments available. Be sure to check out the patient information section.
