Physician Assistant OUR STAFF:
Departments:
Worker's compensation coordinator:
When you are injured on the job or contract an occupational disease, a claim must be filed with either the Department of Labor and Industries or another self-insured company, depending on your employer. Worker's compensation coordinators in our Tacoma and Gig Harbor offices will assist you throughout your recovery. They will work with you, your employer, and your claims manager to resolve time loss issues and coordinate any testing or surgery that may be necessary.
Diagnostic testing and consultation coordinator: Your doctor may refer you out of our office for diagnostic testing or consultation with another specialist. Most insurance companies require preauthorization for all testing and consultations. Our diagnostic test coordinator will obtain the preauthorization and arrange the appointment for you.
Surgery coordinators:
Our surgery coordinators will check insurance eligibility and preauthorization requirements prior to your operation. They will also make arrangements for any lab work, blood donation, and other pre-surgery provisions.
Referral coordinators:
The strict guidelines of managed care insurance companies do not allow us to obtain authorization for services that have been rendered without prior approval from your insurance company. Our referral coordinators will assist you in obtaining the appropriate referral for your office visits, testing, surgery, etc.
Billing department:
Our billing department is located at our main office in Tacoma. Each physician has his own patient account representative who can assist you with billing questions or needs. Insurance plans have many different guidelines and precertification requirements. The goal of our staff is to help you understand these guidelines and make your treatment a pleasant experience.
Orthopaedic and x-ray technicians:
Our orthopaedic and x-ray technicians assist the physicians with the care of orthopaedic injuries. Orthopaedic technicians apply, adjust, and/or remove casts, splints, and braces. X-ray technicians make it possible to complete necessary x-rays in our office in a safe, convenient fashion.
Surgical staff:
The surgical staff at GHASC is a team of highly trained professionals who will assist you before, during, and after your surgery with any questions or treatment concerns you may have. They will guide you through each step of the surgery process, describe what to expect, and answer any questions about preparing for the day of surgery. The nursing staff is committed to helping you clearly understand all aspects of the surgical procedure and providing instruction to help the healing process.
