WORKING AS A TEAM
We have worked together for many years and our practice is Evidence Based.
Though we are Surgeons, part of our practice is in NON-Operative Care of Spinal Disorders working closely with Physical Therapist and Pain Physicians.
Where INTERVENTIONAL treatment is indicated, we utilise a range of procedures from minimally invasive procedures to formal surgery with minimal access portals where applicable.
APPROACH TO MANAGEMENT
Our approach to management of patients follow a routine
1 Careful History and Physical Examination
2 Appropriate Evaluation which often include Imaging Studies such as X rays and MRI Scans and sometimes Blood Tests
3 Making a working diagnosis, and advise our patients on the treatment options available and their pros and cons, and helping them to make informed choices about their treatments.
4 Identifying Urgent problems which may need immediate intervention such as Cauda Equina Syndrome, Tumors, Infection, Fracture and Dislocations or Specialised Rheumatological Diseases such as Ankylosing Spondylitis
5 For most Strains, Sprains, Degenerative Disc Disease, Cervical spondylosis, Lumbar Spondylosis, Herniated Discs, Spondylolysis, Spondylolisthesis, Sciatica, Spinal Stenosis, treatment starts with Conservative measures with Physical therapy and medications
6 To help manage pain while patients are recovering from acute episodes, specialised INJECTIONS such as epidural steroids, facet joint injections, transforaminal nerve root injection, and radiofrequency ablation of nerve supply to facet joints may be helpful
7 For patient with back pain / sciatica due to small, contained herniated disc or degenerated disc with posterior annular tear, minimally invasive procedure such as nucleoplasty may be successful. For those with osteoporosis fracture, we can offer vertebroplasty or kyphoplasty
8 For those with more significant problems from Prolapsed discs, Spinal Canal Stenosis,Spondylolisthesis, Metastasis, Scoliosis,Failed back,Fractures and Dislocations, formal surgery may be indicated where conservative and less invasive measures fail or are not suitable. This may include Microdisectomy,Laminectomy, Laminoplasty, Fusion and Artificial Disc Replacement
9 Where applicable we utilise Minimal Access Portals
10 We embrace evolving technology and continue to keep abreast of new developments and technology but are careful in their applications
OUR EXPERTISE range from Minimally Invasive to Formal Open Surgeries and include Epidural Injection, Facet Injection, Medial Branch Injections, Vertebroplasty, Nucleoplasty, Endoscopic Disectomy, Microdisectomy, Laminectomy, Laminoplasty, Artificial Disc Replacement, Spinal Fusion, Soft Stabilisation, Hybrid Stabilisation, Correction for scoliosis, Revision Spine Surgery, Excision of Spinal Tumors, Tethered Cord Syndrome
