My approach to treating patients

Welcome to my personal website where I hope you will find valuable information about your orthopedic condition and our orthopedic practice. --For over 36 years, my personal mission has been to provide the highest quality orthopedic care possible. Our group has succeeded in this goal as we continue to grow with specialists in all fields of musculo-skeletal conditions, including hip and knee conditions, sports medicine, shoulder, hand, spine and pain intervention. Our specialists have been trained at the top orthopedic institutions in the country, including the New England Baptist, Tufts, Harvard, Columbia, Penn, Brown, Emory, Boston Childrens', Michigan, Wisconsin, Chicago Loyola and more! We provide the highest quality community orthopedic care for Southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the Islands. Our orthopedic and physiatry group has received countless accolades for our care, demonstrated by our great outcomes. --For 20 years I was Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital At Plymouth. During that tenure, we raised the bar for quality orthopedic care. --In late 2015, my surgical colleagues voted me in as Chief of Surgery at BID-Plymouth. My new goal is to ensure great care through all the surgical specialties including neurosurgery, general surgery, urology, ENT and plastic surgery. We are well on our way, and I am so very proud to work with this team of great surgeons. --In my own field of hip and knee replacements at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital at Plymouth, we have caring wonderful nurses, awesome anesthesiologists, private rooms and a great team of therapists who help you on your way to a quick and successful recovery. Our rate of complications remains so extremely low. Once a month, all orthopedic team members from the complete program, doctors, nurses of all levels of the team, therapists, pharmacists, VNAs, rehab representatives and case managers meet to make our program the best! --Since 1982, I have completed thousands of orthopedic surgeries in Plymouth. In 2003, I initiated the use of computerized total hip and knee surgeries, and now I have done over 5000 total hip and knee replacements, using these minimally invasive techniques. Over the past year, we have advanced the technology to robotic techniques, now adding even more precision to our procedures of hip and knee replacements, assuring an excellent alignment of the prosthesis and excellent results. ---Please feel free to browse through the Health Library, and review information that may be useful to you. It is very important for patients and their family members to understand their medical condition and the various treatments that may be offered, so that we can work with shared-decision-making when it comes to your orthopedic health. I hope that the resources provided here will be helpful to you. Our physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, xray technologists and office staff are all dedicated to fulfilling this commitment to you. Our goal is to make your wish come true. ---Updated August 2018
