My approach to treating patients

Maxwell Speers MacCollum III, MD or "Tres" started his orthopaedic practice in the west valley in 1989. He grew up in Phoenix, attending grade school at Madison Simis and high school at Brophy Prep. He graduated from Colorado College in 1979, went on to medical school at the University of Arizona, and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix in 1989.

Dr. MacCollum has a wide range of experience in the treatment of disorders of the knee, shoulder, and upper extremity, most fractures, as well as the nonoperative management of spinal disorders. Dr. MacCollum is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and successfully completed the recertification process in 2009. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and contributes annually to the Orthopaedic Research and Educational Fund.

Dr. MacCollum believes in a patient-oriented approach to care in which the office visit is spent with him, not a physician assistant. He loves the outdoors and spending time with his family, including three sports-loving daughters.
