Dr. Freeman completed an AO fellowship in Surgical Preservation of the Hip under the guidance of Drs. He was the first recipient of the prestigious International Society for Hip Arthroscopy (ISHA) traveling hip surgery fellowship where he spent time with Dr. Thomas Byrd, M.D., as a hip arthroscopy fellow at Nashville Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Freeman was selected as one of the prestigious Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) Travelling Fellows in 2015, which involved touring major orthopaedic centers in the US, giving lectures, meeting with leaders of the field, and learning the most advanced surgical practices in knee surgery as well as shoulder and hip surgery.

In addition to being an active clinician, Dr. Freeman has contributed to academic orthopaedic surgery previously as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine, Uniformed Services University of Health Science, Bethesda, MD.
